Capstone Project About Synthesis of Hydrocarbons Using the Methanol-to-Olefins (MTO) Process

Developed a conceptual design for an olefin synthesis plant processing 800 kilotons/year of methanol to produce ethylene and propylene with a total capacity of 282,951 tons/year, utilizing methanol feedstock from a planned government facility in Bojonegoro, Indonesia. Designed plant equipment and utility systems for the methanol-to-olefin process based on applicable
engineering standards and best practices. Calculated material requirements for the production process, including main feedstock (methanol) and supporting materials such as catalysts, in alignment with process specifications. Performed technoeconomic evaluation by estimating CAPEX and OPEX, and conducted feasibility studies to assess the economic viability of the plant.

Chemical Engineering Research About Corrosion Study of Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel 304, and Aluminium in Dimethyltin Chloride Solution

Investigated the effect of temperature and dimethyltin chloride concentration on corrosion rates to
evaluate material performance under various operating conditions. Measured and compared corrosion rates of dimethyltin chloride aqueous solutions on different metals, including stainless steel 304, carbon steel, and aluminum. Analyzed and determined the corrosion reaction mechanisms of dimethyltin chloride to provide insights for material selection and corrosion prevention strategies.

Design and AnalysPerformed sensitivity analysis on equilibrium conversion versus temperature (200–450°C) using Gibbs and PFR reactors, validating kinetic parameters with under 10 percent deviation from thermodynamic predictions, and identifying optimal kinetic constants (A, Ea, α) for ammonia synthesis. Evaluated multi-bed reactor configurations, identifying Configuration D (adiabatic reactor 1 + isothermal reactors 2 & 3) as the most effective, achieving the highest ammonia molar flow rate (33.3623 kmol/h) compared to other configurations. Optimized separation and recycle system conditions, recommending 65°C and 15 bar for maximum efficiency, determining purge rate effects on inert gas accumulation, and identifying catalyst deactivation risks when feed pressure exceeds 100 bar.is of Ammonia Synthesis Processing System Project

Process Safety Project About Risk Analysis and Hazard Mitigation Design at PHKT Terminal Lawe – Lawe

Conducted safety assessments of four key processing units at PHKT, performing HAZID and HAZOP studies to identify hazards (e.g., high-pressure releases, fires, toxic leaks) and determine critical deviations in pressure, temperature, and level, leading to safeguard recommendations. Performed Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) using Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) and Event Tree Analysis
(ETA), including fatality analysis through LSIR, IRPA, and PLL metrics, supported by personnel and
operational data. Evaluated community impact and risk reduction via F-N Diagram analysis, successfully lowering the Individual Risk Level from “Intolerable” to “As Low As Reasonably Practicable (ALARP),” approaching a “Tolerable” threshold.
